Precision-Machined 42CrMo4 Hex Full Nuts
Case Study: 7/8" UNC Hex Full Nut
Manufactured to ASME B18.2.2 Specification
Precision-Machined 42CrMo4 Hex Full Nuts Produced In-House
When a customer required a batch of 7/8" UNC Hex Full Nuts manufactured from 42CrMo4 alloy steel, Victory Fasteners provided a complete in-house manufacturing solution, delivering fully machined components produced to the dimensional requirements of ASME B18.2.2.
Starting with purchased 42CrMo4 round bar, the components were manufactured through a controlled machining process, ensuring dimensional accuracy, thread integrity, and full traceability throughout production.
Manufacturing Process
The project involved transforming raw material into finished hex nuts through a series of precision machining operations:
- 42CrMo4 alloy steel round bar sourced to specification
- Components machined to finished dimensions
- Hexagonal profiles milled to ASME B18.2.2 requirements
- Bore drilled to prepare for internal threading
- Internal 7/8" UNC threads machined and verified
- Material and identification marking applied through etching
- 100% inspection carried out prior to dispatch
Quality Assurance
As part of Victory Fasteners' commitment to quality and traceability, every component underwent 100% inspection before release. Critical dimensions, thread form, and overall conformity were verified to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
The use of 42CrMo4 material provides excellent strength and toughness, making these components suitable for demanding industrial and engineering applications where reliability is essential.
Bespoke Fastener Manufacturing
