New CNC Lathe Investment
Continued Investment in CNC Turning at Victory Fasteners
New Takisawa EX-108 CNC lathe will enhance our bespoke manufacturing service, production flexibility and customer response
Victory Fasteners has taken delivery of a Takisawa EX-108 CNC lathe, with installation currently taking place at our West Midlands manufacturing facility.
The new machine forms part of our structured programme of continued investment, supporting the future growth of the business while enhancing the speed, flexibility and precision of the bespoke manufacturing services we provide.
For our customers, this investment is about more than increasing workshop capacity. It will help us respond more proactively to changing requirements, reduce production turnaround times and provide greater flexibility when working towards demanding delivery deadlines.
Strengthening Our In-House Manufacturing Capabilities
The Takisawa EX-108 is a high-precision, two-axis CNC horizontal turning centre designed for accurate and efficient metal turning operations.
Its capabilities include turning, facing, boring and threading, making it particularly well suited to the manufacture of precision small-to-medium-sized metal components.
Once commissioned, the EX-108 will strengthen our ability to manufacture components such as pins, shafts, bushes, threaded parts and bespoke fittings. It will also support both one-off requirements and repeat production, with particular advantages for small-to-medium batch quantities.
Bringing additional CNC turning capacity into our engineering workshop provides Victory Fasteners with greater control over production scheduling, quality and lead times. It also supports our single-source approach, helping customers take a component from drawing and material selection through machining, threading, inspection and final finish.
Greater Precision and Production Flexibility
The EX-108 combines a rigid slant-bed construction with heavy-duty linear guideways, helping to provide stability and consistent accuracy throughout the machining process.
Its 12-station high-speed servo turret enables several tools to remain loaded and ready for use. This reduces tool-change and setup time between operations, allowing different customer orders to move through production more efficiently. The machine also features a Fanuc 21i-T CNC control system, providing proven programming capability for bespoke components, prototypes and repeat production runs.
With a maximum turning diameter of 320 mm, a maximum turning length of 530 mm and spindle speeds of up to 4,000 rpm, the EX-108 provides useful capacity across a broad range of precision engineering applications. Its stated specification also includes a 12-station turret and an 11 kW spindle motor. Technical specification: Ward CNC
Key Operational Benefits
High-Precision Performance
The heavy-duty linear guideway design helps maintain stability and minimise unwanted movement during machining. This supports the accurate tolerances and consistent component quality expected by our customers.
Faster Setup and Changeover
A 12-station turret allows multiple tools to be prepared and retained on the machine. Reducing manual tool changes will help us move more quickly between different components, operations and customer orders.
Increased Cutting Capability
The machine’s rigid construction and powerful spindle provide the strength required for demanding machining operations across a variety of engineering materials, subject to the appropriate tooling and production setup.
Responsive Short-Run Manufacturing
The Fanuc control system supports efficient programming for bespoke parts, prototypes and smaller production batches. This is particularly valuable when customers require a fast and flexible response rather than a long-volume production schedule.
Versatile Component Capacity
A maximum turning diameter of 320 mm and maximum turning length of 530 mm enable the EX-108 to accommodate many commonly requested component sizes, including shafts, pins, bushes and custom-engineered fittings.
Investment Focused on Our Customers
Continued investment is an important part of how Victory Fasteners develops its manufacturing service.
The addition of the Takisawa EX-108 will allow us to increase capacity while maintaining the personal, flexible and responsive approach our customers expect. It will help shorten production times, improve scheduling options and strengthen our ability to react when delivery requirements change.
Most importantly, this investment is focused on customer satisfaction. Greater in-house capability gives us more control over every stage of production, enabling us to respond confidently to bespoke requirements while maintaining quality, traceability and dependable delivery.
Installation and commissioning of the new CNC lathe are now underway, and we look forward to bringing this additional capability into production.
